  1. My favorite holiday recipe is for thumbprint cookies. I can top them off with jams, Nutella or coconut butter.

  2. I make homemade ravioli for Christmas every year for the entire family, Its a recipe my Italian-born Gram used to make. I stood by her side when I was 15 and wrote down the measurements, as she didn’t ever measure anything! I still have the piece of paper I used and think of her when we make them. (by hand!)

  3. My family expects/loves a yeasted brioche type dough that is shaped (pieces of dough and twisting) into either Santa’s face or Snowflakes. Its pizza pan size and based on a Sunset magazine recipe from late ’60’s or early ’70’s. Yum!

  6. There are a few things I make during the holidays. A couple of which are generations old: daily noodles and steamed cranberry puddings, and one that is just plain requested: stuffed mushrooms!

  7. my favorite thing to make is hot chocolate, but my favorite thing to eat is christmas cookies! I live very close to my sil and mil, so we make cookies and swap all december.

  8. I love making a rather homely sesame seed cookie that is really, really good. It won’t win prizes for looks, but the taste is incredible.

  9. My favorite never-fails-could-make-it-with-my-eyes-closed-fast-to-take-anywhere-recipe for the holidays has to be the 7layer cookies that I learned how to make when I was 9 years old.

  10. I have a sour cream sugar cookie recipe that makes amazingly soft cut-out cookies. I have used it for 25 years, and they are addicting! My kids are asking for them already!

  11. My favorite recipe to make during the holiday season is a Chile Relleno Casserole. My mom baked it each Christmas morning throughout my childhood and now I do the same for my family.

  12. I have been making a lot of spicy gingersnap cookies this year, my new favorite! Following CCC on Facebook, too!

  13. I love doing new year cake with tons of dried fruits and nuts and chocolate on top with decoration

  14. A favorite Christmas recipe of mine is for Christmas breakfast. I make my husbands mothers crepes. They are served with brown sugar and Canadian Maple Syrup. Simple yet elegant brings warm memories back for my husband and brings thoughts of his family to him for Christmas and that is the best gift of all.

  15. I love making homemade cinnamon rolls for holiday mornings. Waking up to that warm yeasty scent is a treat.
